The 2018 installment of the International Symposium on Bioinformatics (InSyB) was held at Perdana University from 20-21 December. The theme of the symposium was “Advancing Bioinformatics: The Future of Life Sciences”, and was officiated by the President of APBioNet, Dr. Mohammad Asif Khan.
The symposium was then followed by a keynote talk entitled “Multi-domain proteins: Evolutionary features, structure, flexibility and energetics” by Prof. N. Srinivasan from Molecular Biophysics Unit of Indian Institute of Science.
This particular installment witnessed several other highlights – Memorandum of Understanding between MyBioInfoNet and APBioNet; and the Annual General Meeting of the Malaysian Society of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (MaSBiC).
The symposium featured 13 oral presentation, 2 keynote talks, 4 plenary talks, 23 poster presentations and two workshop sessions, namely “Genome Analysis” and “Structural Bioinformatics 101”. InSyB 2018 received participation of close to 100 delegates from both local and neighboring countries.
APBioNet is proud to work alongside with its partners to host its flagship symposium and looks forward to more exciting collaboration in the coming years.
