Dear Fellow APBioNet Members,
Over the past years, APBioNet has enjoyed a steady increase in memberships, largely due to our Annual InCoB conferences with their high attendance figures. Our loyal members have also found us through a variety of training programs and projects led by our able volunteer leaders and our Executive Committee (ExCo) leaders. As such, we would like to thank you for continuing to be a member and for your continuous support of our organization.
Every two years, our members gather to vote for a new slate of APBioNet ExCo members. These ExCo members will serve the organization for 2 years, during which they will decide the direction of the organization, and provide the necessary leadership required to make it a success.
At the Annual General Meeting (AGM) during InCoB 2016 in Singapore tentatively scheduled for the 21st or 22nd September 2016, we will be holding our final physical ballot and announcing our elected ExCo members. As a member, you can nominate candidates for this upcoming elections in addition to the current ExCo members who have put themselves up as candidates for re-election. You can start e-voting on 24 August until 7 September 2016.
In this Call for Nominations for candidates to serve in the APBioNet ExCo, issued to all our members, APBioNet invites all members from every country in our region to nominate worthy and hardworking candidates who will be able to serve in a suitable capacity in the APBioNet ExCo. Self-nomination is also accepted. Please send them to me at [email protected]immediately. Valid nominations will include full CV of the candidate plus a very important statement of purpose (see template), and the consent of the candidate. Nominations close by August 7th, 2016.
We will combine this list of new candidates who have agreed to run for election, with current ExCo members who intend to run for re-election and publish them for online voting by 24 August 2016. A notification email for the e-voting ballot will be sent out to members closer to the date.
Thank you.
Best Regards,
Tan Tin Wee
Election Officer
